Devbhoomi Temples is a mobile application that offers narrated audio stories and information about sacred temples of Uttarakhand, India. The app is available in Hindi, English, Sanskrit and Garhwali.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

Devbhoomi Temples does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or location.

Information collected automatically

When you use the app, the following types of data are collected automatically:

• Usage analytics — which temples you view, how long you listen, which language you use, and whether you share or favourite a temple. This data is anonymous and cannot be linked back to you personally.
• Crash reports — if the app crashes, a report is sent automatically. It contains device type, OS version, and a stack trace. It does not contain any personal information.
• Advertising identifier — Google AdMob uses your device's advertising ID to show relevant ads. You can reset or opt out of this at any time in your device's privacy settings.

Information stored only on your device

• Your preferred language (Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Garhwali)
• Temples you have marked as favourites
• Audio stories cached for offline listening

None of this information leaves your device unless described in this policy.

3. How we use the information

• To improve the app — analytics help us understand which temples are popular and where the app can be better.
• To fix bugs — crash reports help us identify and resolve technical issues quickly.
• To show ads — the app displays ads provided by Google AdMob to support free access to all content.

The app displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (GAID on Android, IDFA on iOS) to serve personalised ads.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time:

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation
• iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → Personalised Ads (off)

Opting out does not remove ads from the app — it means ads will no longer be tailored to your interests.

6. Children's privacy

Devbhoomi Temples is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Data retention and deletion

Analytics and crash data are retained according to the default retention periods set by Google Firebase (up to 14 months for analytics). We do not retain any other data on our servers.

Data stored locally on your device (favourites, language preference, cached audio) is retained until you delete the app or clear the app's data in your device settings.

8. Security

All audio content is delivered over HTTPS. We do not maintain any servers or databases containing personal user information, which means there is no central database that can be breached.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
